This program is designed to retain high-performers within the Holmdel School system rather than losing them to vocation schools.

Speaking to the Jersey Shore Chinese School’s Candidates’ Forum
Thank you to everybody involved with the Jersey Shore Chinese School for giving me the opportunity to speak at their Candidates’ Forum today. It was fun to see some familiar faces! It was brief, but feel free to reach out if anybody has questions they want to ask!
Twenty-four New Jersey school systems earned an A-plus in the education platform Niche’s 2023 Best Schools and Districts rankings released Tuesday. We came in at #16 in the State!
I want to make sure that all Holmdel students are hitting appropriate academic benchmarks despite the serious disruption caused the pandemic. The New York times reports that students have lost two years of learning. This is why I pushed for a return to in classroom learning. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/09/01/us/national-test-scores-math-reading-pandemic.html
Holmdel High School AP Score Card
One of my goals for the last three years has been to focus on raising the district’s rankings - a concern for many residents. A major factor in calculating rankings is the percentage of students participating in taking the AP test. The sharp rise in student participation along with improved scores shows the this goal coming to fruition.
On Wednesday, February 19th I will be at the tables outside of Booskerdoo at Bellworks from 10:00-11:00 AM. Please stop by if you would like to share your thoughts, concerns or hopes about the Holmdel Township school system. Looking forward to seeing parents and neighbors!
Sworn in at a special board meeting last night. Thank you everybody for your continuing support (and fellow board member Terrence Wall for taking the photo).
In this article Holmdel is listed at 153 out of 318. What I would really like to know is how Holmdel fared compared to our district factor grouping peers. We are district factor grouping I -which includes towns such as Colts Neck, Fair Haven and Summit. When Dineen Seeley made a presentation to the BOE she only presented Holmdel's performance in comparison to the entire state. The residents and members of the BOE need more detailed information about our school's performance.
Good article about getting tech companies to delete the data they gather when providing services to school. http://www.theguardian.com/education/2019/dec/05/schools-monitor-students-online-activity
